How to keep a CV on one page
If you want to get noticed by Elite jobs-hunters or companies you need to know some tips to impress the manager. But the only thing really important is: never “stretch” your resume to two pages.
That’s why we give you some advices to sell yourself and optimize your document.
Between two similar profiles, the content and the design make the difference. A lot of Elite manager and executive write more than one page so you can easily make a difference. Select your best professional experience, training and hobby. You can delete the skill part because a lot of people used it to fake their competences so recruiters prefer to test them during a meeting.
In the first part (experience), you will list three or four big steps in your Elite career but pay attention to write your resume in reverse-chronological order. Explain them with a little description (what did you do?) and put the key factor of your success.
In the second part, your university training strictly becomes “a line item” on your resume, if you have specific training use language and terms that any professional in your field would understand.
Also include special classifications such as graduate advisor, committee member, head of department, etc
And the last part is “hobby”. Don’t put all your activities just think of any hobby relevant to the skills you need for the job. For example, you like this sport because you have to make fast decision or you like challenge. Recruiters use that part to evaluate your personality, it’s the ideal perfect spot to put
Now you have to put a title … just put the name of your job and your specialization or something that give your more credit on the top-right of the page. On top-left you’ll write a little business card name, age, languages, e-mail, phone and your mobility (want to move or not)
Now all you have to do is create a linkedin profile with all your information (it’s like a free CV online) and register to website like Elite jobs in Switzerland or anywhere else you can upload your CV to make it visible to companies.
